The Junior Job Project exists to empower the next generation by creating safe, meaningful opportunities for young people to work, serve, lead, and grow. Through hands-on experiences, community partnerships, mentorship, and teamwork, we help youth build confidence, develop lifelong skills, strengthen their neighborhoods, and discover that even the smallest job can create a brighter future.

How it works
Every community project is checked before anyone shows up
JJP sits between the person who needs work done and the young people who do it. That middle step is the whole product: it is what makes a community project worth a parent's yes.

A project comes in
Someone with work that needs doing books a crew. A yard, a community space, a clean-up.
Step 2
We review and approve it
Every project is reviewed and approved before it goes live, so every community project is safe, legal, and worth showing up for.
Step 3
A crew gets matched
A crew leader and 4 to 6 young people are matched to the project.
Step 4
The work happens, supervised
Every child is supervised by two or more adults at all times. The crew leader works alongside them, not over them.
Step 5
The project makes an impact.
Young people finish the day with real experience, new skills, and the pride of seeing what their work accomplished.

Ash'le Hankton
Founder & CEO, The Junior Job Project
Ash'le Hankton is the Founder of The Junior Job Project, a youth development organization created to give young people meaningful opportunities to learn, contribute, and discover what they're capable of.
She created JJP from a simple belief: every child deserves the opportunity to discover who they can become. Through safe, supervised community projects, Ash'le is building a space where young people can develop confidence, responsibility, teamwork, leadership, and real-world skills while making a difference in the communities around them.
